Prison Baby

Well, Caleb didn't get any better over the weekend. We spent most of Sunday night holding Caleb in a steamy bathroom to help him breathe and by Monday morning he was really struggling so decided to take him to the ER at the Children's Hospital.

They didn't even triage him. They just took one listen to him and got him a breathing treatment as fast as they could. The treatment gave him some temporary relief but he ended up needing a second treatment only 45 minutes later. Since he didn't respond the way they had hoped to the treatments, they decided to admit him for ongoing treatments and another round of steroids to help alleviate the swelling in his throat.

We spent 3 days in the hospital. Caleb got all sorts of attention from the nurses. One nurse even tried to set him up with the doctor's little girl who is his age. (I thought that was a little weird.)

Chris was a huge help. He stayed with Caleb at night so that I could go home and sleep in our bed and get some real rest. We are happy to have Caleb home now. He is still a bit hoarse but he is well on his way to recovery. Thank you all for your prayers and support. (Hopefully this is the last time I'll have to see Caleb behind bars...)
